The 34th Street Lofts were built on an empty lot in a historic and transitional area of Savannah’s Midtown District. This new-construction project transformed the site and its surrounding area, introducing a full city block of affordable contemporary housing that respects and complements its surrounding historic context. A combination of the duplex, multi-family apartment, and carriage house-style cottages address East Broad and 34th Streets, while an interior, common green space creates a private pocket park. Adhering to budget constraints — $80/sf — allowed the project to emerge as an affordable housing option for a diverse range of Midtown residents.
