SCAD Equestrian

Jasper County, South Carolina, 18,000 sf

The Ronald C. Waranch Equestrian Center was commissioned to support SCAD's national-caliber equestrian program. The facility includes the main equestrian building, a renovated support services barn, grand prix performance rings, practice rings and more than 50 acres of paddocks. The main equestrian building incorporates 36 stalls, including quarantine and birthing stalls, wash bays, a medication and feed room, a tack room, staff offices and two apartments on the upper level for on-site staff. The building was constructed as a pole barn utilizing regional materials and construction techniques that have been time-testeded for durability and maintenance. By exposing the heavy timber framing, the interior exudes a warmth and richness that is uncommon in modern agricultural buildings. *Completed under prior association
