Broughton Haus

The building at 132 East Broughton Street, formerly the City of Savannah’s Broughton Municipal Building, is located within Savannah’s Landmark Historic District at the prominent intersection of Broughton and Abercorn Streets. Designed by Levy and Kiley Architects as a modern office building for the First Federal Savings and Loan Association, it was constructed in 1960 and operated continuously as a bank until it was purchased by the City of Savannah in 1991. In 2010, the building was identified as architecturally significant within the Landmark Historic District and is being developed for Historic Preservation Tax Credits. The iconic design of the building was a perfect framework for the design team to create a new 45 room hotel (complete with a ground floor restaurant and rooftop bar) that delivers a modern boutique hotel experience, while respecting the building’s history.
